Film Club

It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.

- Roger Ebert

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the ABOG Film Club! This club operates in much the same way as the ABOG Book Club: a title will be selected for members to view on their own in advance, and then we'll meet to discuss. Film selections will be available on popular streaming, on-demand, or rental services, perhaps upcoming at a local theater, and/or on disc; we will not be picking films that people cannot easily access.

Please visit our Letterboxd account: http://letterboxd.com/abogfilmclub/ - this is like Goodreads, but for movies! You may use this social network as a place to share your thoughts, manage and track your viewing, and find what friends, colleagues, and even noted critics are recommending (or not recommending). We will be keeping track of our selections, as well as aggregating members' recommendations and proposed "watchlists." Our inaugural meeting was in November, to discuss Two Days, One Night.

Our next meeting -- to discuss Carol -- will be held:

Wednesday, August 10th

Mission Bay - Mission Hall 3700B

5:30 - 6:45pm

Carol is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and to rent digitally. Please note this will be a joint meeting with Book Club -- please also read the source novel, The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith (Strangers on a Train, The Talented Mr. Ripley).

Some light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
