    Tools and concepts from the bestselling book, Cut to the Chase, is the basis for this presentation, which provides specific steps on ways to manage time differently, gain improved insight on how individuals may be unconsciously wasting time, and ways to gain more control over the greatest commodity in today's workplace: time.

Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction

James Mitchell, PhD began practicing and studying mindfulness meditation and hatha yoga in 1995.  He completed his doctoral degree in East/West Psychology in 2003 focusing on the psychological connection between western science & eastern philosophy. He trained in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Drs. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Robert Stahl.  Presently he teaches MBSR at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine and Mindfulness Yoga in recovery centers; he is also part of a research project introducing MBSR into Samuel Merritt College's healthcare curriculum.

Linda Morris Williams was appointed Associate Chancellor for the University of California, Berkeley on May 1, 2008. As a Senior Advisor to Chancellor Robert J. Birgeneau and a member of his Cabinet, Williams serves as a lead strategist and has a broad level of authority to represent the Campus with constituencies such as faculty, senate committee chairs, senior administrators, other UC locations, Office of the President, public agencies and the community. Williams has administrative oversight for the offices of Government Relations, Community Relations, Audit and Advisory Services and serves as the campus’ Locally Designated Official under the Whistleblower Policy.

Prior to her current position on the Berkeley campus, Williams served as Associate President for the University of California Office of the President from 2003-2008 in which she was the senior-most administrative and policy advisor to UC President Robert C. Dynes.   In her role as Associate President Williams, played an instrumental role in driving key University Leadership initiatives and the recruitment and selection of University leaders, including eight new campus Chancellors.
