Programs and Activities

Leadership Series

Featuring campus leadership and guests from external organizations.

ABOG Mentorship Program

Participants are matched with senior campus managers in order to learn more about management, leadership and to better understand the UCSF organizational culture.

Science for the Rest of Us

This program presents events usually geared to non-scientists.  Faculty researchers present an overview of UCSF research programs, initiatives and "lay-versions" of scientific topics.

Toastmasters

UCSF's own chapter of the international Toastmasters organization designed to cultivate communication and leaderhip skills in fun and welcoming environments.  There are currently three locations: Parnassus, MCB, and Mission Hall.

Book Club

A quarterly opportunity to discuss a fiction or non-fiction book, to meet other members in an informal setting and to be inspired by new thoughts and ideas.

Building Your UCSF Network

We encourage ABOG members to attend events, bring business cards and mingle with colleagues you not met.  By setting a goal to meet one or two new colleagues at each event and exchange contact information, you are building your network!

Professional Development

Our newest program offered to our membership - provides a forum for members to acquire skills and knowledge to enhance their career goals; also incorporates activities from the Tools of the Trade program.

Other Activities

Annual Kick-Off Breakfast, Winter and Summer Socials, Spring Conference, Systemwide ABOG Conference, and participation on the ABOG Listserv which is an electronic bulletin board for announcements and program information, including selected job opportunities.
